The Ribbon Reefs and The Coral Sea are particularly outstanding
sections of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. In this beautifully
compiled presentation, Rob Cooke and brothers Terry and Mark Geddes
share the best of their work captured during 15 years of underwater
exploration. The entrancing world of the reefs and their inhabitants
is shown by day – and by night – in a film story which celebrates
the beauty and grace of biodiversity at the Ribbons. Spawning
corals, dancing manta-rays, whales, turtles, clams, fish, shells and
crustaceans – from the cute and curious to the bold and shy, the
underwater dance of life displayed is a visual symphony accompanied
by the music of award winning Queensland composer Murdo McRae.
Visibility Photography & Video produced “The Reef Report”, aired on
channel 9 from March 1999 until 2005. This segment was part of the
WIN NEWS program televised in the Cairns and Tropical North
Queensland area. The weekly 90 sec slot covered a range of topics on
the Great Barrier Reef. Drawing from our extensive footage library
and knowledge of the local area, helped us create over 200 different
programs, and maintain a solid public following.
Rob Cooke of Visibility Photography & Video is currently the Port Douglas based stand alone camera/reporter
for Channel Seven Local News. The experience gained in capturing
news footage has strengthened his ability to work efficiently in
stressful and emotionally charged situations.
